Thomas J. Thompson


Thomas J. Thompson served in Co. G of Gray's 28th LA INF. He attained the rank of corporal. He enlisted in Monroe LA on May 14, 1862. He was taken prisoner on April 13, 1863 at the battle of Fort Bisland. The records show he was placed on parole at Natchitoches, LA June 10, 1865. He was a resident of Winn Parish. Family tradition says, he lived somewhere in the area of St. Maurice, LA. and was a farmer. We know he died sometime after 1873. "My Mother remembers her father and grandmother talking about how injuries he received in the war had something to do with his death."
